Jeff and I just returned from our stakes youth pioneer trek. Yikes, I am glad I was not a pioneer. I like camping, but that involves a warm sleeping bag, no snow, a comfy camping chair, and smores.
We got to play "Ma" & "Pa" to 10 youth from the stake. We had to push a handcart loaded with our gear 12 miles through the mountains until 4am in the morning on the first day. What are they trying to do.... kill us?
No, I guess they were just trying to give us a taste of what it was like to push onward, even though you are tired and hungry.
I am so grateful for what they did and the sacrifice they made. I am even more grateful that it's over with, no more crossing the plains required.
Shwew!
They didn't even have deodorant.
Yup... I am so glad I am not a pioneer!
